Government announces 'one nation one ration card' for migrant workers

Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday announced that public distribution system (PDS) ration cards will be made portable to allow migrant workers to use these cards across the states. This means that the migrant workers can use their ration cards at any free price shop across the country to obtain food.
