3D Resources Limited (ASX:DDD) has commenced its maiden drilling program at Adelong  Goldfield in New South Wales with the initial 1,000 metre drilling program to focus on the Donkey Hill and Currajong deposits. The company plans to drill a total 10 holes for about 650 metres at Currajong with the remaining 350 metres at Donkey Hill. The drilling program aims to accurately model and test the existing mineralisation at both the sites. Focus on near term cash flow 3D Resources is currently considering a second- stage drilling program, decision on which will be finalised after completing modelling and the initial 1,000 metre drilling. The drilling program forms a part of the broader strategic review, focused on near term cash flow and development options of Adelong Goldfield. "Adelong Goldfield represents exciting potential" 3D Resources chairman Ian Hastings said: “The team has done an outstanding job in preparation for the commencement of our maiden drilling program today.  “We think that the Adelong Goldfield represents exciting potential which we are now only starting to unlock.  “I look forward to the results of the program which is expected to show the value that this ground holds.” Currajong Project 3D Resources plans to drill seven holes for a total 650 metres at the Currajong deposit to test the potential extensions of some of the ore shoots in the near-surface open-cut environment.  The company will drill five holes into the main deposit with a further two holes in the underexplored Currajong East vein system to better understand the mineralisation and to confirm earlier drilling data. 3D Resources believes that there is a potential for extensions to the south and extensions to ore shoots and will use the data generated from this program in further drilling. Donkey Hill Project After undertaking a 3D modelling of the Donkey Hill Project, it has identified five parallel shear zones that are mineralised, of which 3 zones are sufficiently drilled and graded to generate a possible resource. The company is now assessing the resource and it plans to drill three holes for a total 350 meters in some of the shallower extensions to supplement previous drilling data. There are indications from the geological and geophysical data as well as some reconnaissance drilling that these shear zones continue over 250 metres to the north.
