Texas jobless claims fall to near March levels

The number of new weekly unemployment claims filed in Texas dropped last week, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Workers in the Lone Star State filed 52,318 first-time unemployment insurance claims during the week ended Aug. 22, according to Labor Department data released Aug. 27.
