Jobless claims fall again over the week

Initial unemployment claims have fallen to 8,679 over the week. That’s down from 8,848 during the week ending Sept. 12, based on data from the Alabama Department of Labor. Although overall claims fell by over 150, claims related to Covid-19 did not decrease by much. During the week ending Sept. 19, 4,465 claims were Covid-19 related, compared to 4,485 the week prior.
