Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) hit a new record high of 40 cents after intersecting the highest gold grades to date at Gordons Dam prospect within the Gordons Gold Project in the highly prospective Kalgoorlie-Boulder Region of Western Australia. A highlight of the 1-metre downhole sample fire assay results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling was 1-metre at 73.12 g/t gold within 8 metres at 11.03 g/t from 36 metres. Fifty-five RC holes for 4,385 metres were completed at the prospect to test for extensions immediately adjacent to and along strike from mineralisation hosted within shallow oxidised palaeochannel sediments, felsic porphyry and mafic rocks. Other strong shallow high-grade results were; 1-metre at 15.13 g/t within 7 metres at 3.48 g/t from 38 metres; and 1-metre at 10.34 g/t within 7 metres at 1.73 g/t from 29 metres. Shares have been as much as 38% higher to 40 cents intra-day, a new record high. “Very high grades” Yandal Resources managing director Lorry Hughes said: “The potential to define an initial shallow mineral resource and subsequent open pit development is becoming clearer as infilling wide-spaced reconnaissance holes with high-quality RC holes is proving successful. “Very high grades can be a common feature of palaeochannel hosted deposits in the region and they are quite often located close to a primary source or structure. “High grades have been intersected beneath parts of the palaeochannel previously and the exploration plan is to continue to explore for deeper extensions utilising geological and structural observations from the pending diamond core drilling. “In the meantime, shallow aircore drilling will continue to explore for new palaeochannel and bedrock hosted gold trends in order to provide new targets for RC testing.”   Gordons Dam prospect collar plan highlighting the interpreted palaeochannel area and a number of current and historic downhole RC intercepts. Previous results Previously released shallow high-grade RC drill intercepts to be included in a planned initial mineral resource estimate include; 1-metre at 47.96 g/t within 8 metres at 7.33 g/t from 35 metres; 1-metre at 22.29 g/t within 23 metres at 1.54 g/t from 40 metres; 3 metres at 18.31 g/t within 8 metres at 7.47 g/t from 34 metres; 4 metres at 13.16 g/t from 35 metres; 10 metres at 3.98 g/t from 32 metres; 5 metres at 4.79 g/t from 36 metres; and 4 metres at 11.80 g/t within 10 metres at 6.02 g/t from 30 metres. Upcoming exploration Key exploration activities planned during the December quarter at the Gordons project include: Complete 10,000-metre aircore drilling program at Gordons Dam and regional prospects by the end of October; Complete a two-hole diamond drilling program for 500 metres in December; Receive and review pending results from the remainder of the RC program and compile a maiden resource estimate for Gordons Dam; Conduct sighter metallurgical test-work on Gordons Dam mineralised intervals; and Complete diamond drill program for Gordons Dam.
