Sensex jumps 584 points as banking, financials rise

Equity indices surged on Tuesday with the benchmark BSE sensex closing over 550 points higher, led by gains in financial and banking stocks. The 30-share BSE index rose 584 points or 1.16 per cent higher to close at 51,025; while the broader NSE Nifty settled 142 points or 0.95 per cent higher at 15,098.
