Gevo names industry veteran Tony Wells as general manager for its future Net-Zero 1 facility

Gevo Inc (NASDAQ:GEVO) has announced that Tony Wells has joined the company as general manager/site leader for its future Net-Zero 1 facility slated to be located in Lake Preston, South Dakota. The company noted that Wells brings 30-plus years of operations management, engineering, and business development experience across industries including corn milling, food processing, ethanol, and biodiesel production.  He is expected to lead and assemble the organization that will operate the Net-Zero 1 facility. He knows how to build teams and operations. His experience in engineering and plant design should not be lost on anyone either. We are glad to have him with us. He’s good," said CEO Dr Patrick Gruber in a statement. Wells added: “Becoming part of the team behind Net-Zero 1 is a monumental privilege. Assembling the team that will be the driving force of this first of its kind, state-of-the-art facility is the highlight of my career.” The off-the-grid Net-Zero 1 plant is expected to produce about 45 million gallons per year (MGPY) of energy-dense liquid hydrocarbons that should have a net-zero greenhouse gas footprint across the whole of the life cycle when burned as transportation fuels.
