Strickland Metals Ltd (ASX:STK) has started drilling at its flagship Yandal Gold Project on the highly prospective Yandal Greenstone Belt in Western Australia.  In June this year, Strickland executed a series of acquisitions, consolidating the entire northeast flank of the Yandal belt.  The move left Strickland and Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX:NST) as the only two companies on this part of the belt.  Drilling until December … at least Strickland has kicked off its drilling program across the region with a 10,000-metre aircore drilling program at the Horse North prospect over a 3 kilometres section at the Celia Shear zone.  This is the same mineralised structure that hosts the existing Horse Prospect with inferred mineral resources of 148,100 ounces of gold. Work at Horse North kicks off a drilling program that will last until December at the earliest. In the next month, Strickland will drill Horse North while also sending an RC rig to its Dusk ’til Dawn gold prospect and to the Iriquois zinc/lead prospect. Further to that, a multi-purpose (RC and diamond) rig is due to arrive at the project in mid-October for work at all three abovementioned prospects.  “We are really excited to have kicked off drilling at our flagship Yandal Project yesterday,” said Strickland CEO Andrew Bray. “We will be drilling constantly from now until at least December. We are drilling some really exciting targets in the coming months.” Drilling at Horse North The 10,000-metre aircore program at Horse North is just the start of an extensive campaign across the Yandal Greenstone belt. This drilling area already had heritage clearance, enabling Strickland to fast track its work program. The area is bolstered by a clearly defined shear structure and several north-west secondary structures, as well as potential areas of dilation which are ideal targets for gold mineralisation.  Dusk til Dawn potential game-changer Following its gravity survey, which highlighted a series of clear related features at the Dusk 'til Dawn prospect, Strickland is sending the RC rig to Dusk 'til Dawn (and Iriquois) for a planned six-week program. Bray believes Dusk 'til Dawn could change the game for Strickland. “The Dusk 'til Dawn drilling could be a complete game-changer for the company, given the confidence around such a high-quality target,” Bray said. “Also, several of the nearby regional look-a-like targets appear to be very compelling and will also be tested. Previous interpretation had the Dusk 'til Dawn mineralisation trending parallel with the main strike in stratigraphy (NNW-SSE), which is what the existing inferred mineral resource is based upon.  However, Strickland now believes the high-grade mineralisation was plunging to the southeast and remains open.  The gravity survey appears to confirm this interpretation, which If correct, means the prospect has not been properly tested or evaluated.  Strickland will now test the theory with the coming RC program, with a focus on intersecting the interpreted high-grade core of the mineralisation down dip. Previous results include:  13 metres at 8.8 g/t gold from 111 metres;  14 metres at 10.0 g/t from 50 metres and 14 metres at 2.6 g/t from 92 metres; and  30 metres at 2.0 g/t from 144 metres, including 12 metres at 3.5 g/t.  Strickland will start drilling at Dusk 'til Dawn in the coming weeks.  The drilling hat-trick Strickland will also start drilling at its Iriquois prospect over the next few weeks, following a successful soil sampling. Results from soil sampling are expected shortly   Iriquois sits at the far end of the Yandal Project and several holes are planned targeting the same zinc-lead style mineralisation as has been previously intersected. Notably, Strickland’s tenement hosts the southern extension of Rumble Resources Ltd (ASX:RTR)’s recent major discoveries at its Earaheedy Project. The prospective strike at Strickland’s tenements is considered to be over 30 kilometres and extends into Strickland’s other tenements to the west and southwest. “This is the target in the northeast of our Yandal project that sits just down strike from Rumble Resources’ exciting zinc-lead discovery,” Bray said.  “Historic drilling has intersected the same mineralisation in first-pass drilling that Rumble has hit. This upcoming drilling should give us an idea of the geometry of the mineralisation on our tenements and going forward it should allow us to vector drilling to target further extensions of the zinc-lead mineralisation.” Systematic approach Strickland is taking a systematic approach to its recently consolidated tenements. Once it has completed its current programs, it will begin ~100,000 metres of drilling covering around 80 kilometres of the Celia Shear zone.  Strickland will start at the Big Daddy prospect and move southward.  Further to this, an RC rig will commence during the March 2022 quarter and drill about 30,000 metres through to the end of 2022, highlighting consistent news flow to come from the company in the next 12 months.
