Stock market today: Asian shares fall over China worries, Seoul trading closed for a holiday

Asian shares were mostly lower Thursday in subdued trading on looming worries about China property woes. Trading in shares of heavily indebted Chinese property developer China Evergrande Group was suspended in Hong Kong. The market was closed in South Korea for a holiday. Benchmarks fell in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney, while rising in Shanghai. Wall Street yo-yoed to a mixed finish as rising oil prices and bond yields crank up the pressure even higher on the stock market. September is on track to be the S&P 500’s worst month of the year.
