Senate votes 98-0 to confirm Biden's nominee to run the Federal Aviation Administration

The Federal Aviation Administration finally has a Senate-confirmed leader. The Senate voted 98-0 on Tuesday to approve President Joe Biden’s nominee for FAA administrator, Michael Whitaker. He's the chief operating officer of a Hyundai affiliate that is developing an air taxi. Before that, he was the deputy FAA administrator. The FAA hasn't had a Senate-confirmed administrator since March of last year. Biden's first choice failed to get out of the Senate Commerce Committee because of fierce Republican opposition.
