Stock market today: Asian shares mostly fall after Wall Street rallies

Asian shares are mostly lower although a strong report on U.S. consumer confidence and hopes the Federal Reserve is finished with its aggressive interest rate hikes sent shares higher on Wall Street. Benchmarks slipped in Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai, while rising in Sydney. Chinese property shares were sold heavily. Oil prices were little changed ahead of a meeting among OPEC members set for Thursday. On Wall Street, the S&P 500 rose 0.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.2% and the Nasdaq composite climbed 0.3%. Thursday will bring an update on the Fed's preferred measure of inflation.
