Government Advice For Re-Opening Music Venues Branded "Unworkable"

A new document has been leaked...

Leaked government advice on the re-opening of music venues has been branded "unworkable".

The document was handed to *the Telegraph*, and seemingly recommends a gap of six metres between fans, alongside a three metre gap between musicians onstage.

Trade body UK Music hit back, however, branding the plans "unworkable" and saying it would not equip venues to re-open.

“These proposals are unworkable,” UK Music acting CEO Tom Kiehl commented. “The size of studios, rehearsal spaces and venues means the present plan is not fit for purpose.”

He continued: “Public Health England needs to work with the music industry to come up with an evidence-based solution to get music back in business.”

The leaked plans have some odd twists - no more than six singers should be on stage at once, meaning that Polyphonic Spree re-union might have to wait until 2021.

Continuing, UK Music predicted that COVID-19 shutdown will remove £900 million from the UK economy, with up to 400 grassroots spaces threatened with imminent closure.

The government has yet to respond to the reports.
