The SAG-AFTRA actors' union has reached a tentative agreement with Hollywood studios to end the 118-day strike. The deal, which will be considered by the union's national board on Friday, includes an increase in minimum salaries and a share of streaming service revenue. The strike, which began in mid-July, also aimed to protect actors from being replaced by AI-generated "digital replicas." The resolution allows Hollywood to resume full production for the first time since May. The disruptions caused by the strike cost California over $6 billion in lost output.
