Sandro Gozi is a newcomer to the European Parliament but he’s far from a newcomer to Europe. From 2014 to 2018 he was State Secretary for European Affairs in his native Italy. But he’s just taken up one of the 27 MEP seats that were redistributed after Brexit, from the UK’s allocation. Sandro Gozi was elected last year in parliament as part of Emmanuel Macron’s centrist “Renaissance” list of French MEPs
