Hong Kong police make first arrests under China’s new security law

Hong Kong police have made their first arrests under a new national security law imposed by China, starting with a protester who was carrying a flag calling for the territory’s independence. The man was arrested after police had issued multiple warnings to the crowd at a protest in the Causeway Bay shopping district that they might be in violation of the law, according to a police statement on Twitter.
