Pace of new COVID-19 cases in New York slows, state figures show

The number of new COVID-19 cases across the state continued to increase, but at a much slower pace, officials said Thursday, while Republican lawmakers from Long Island called for lifting the ban on late-night dining and residency restrictions on vaccinations in New York City.
