The second batch of IAF’s Rafale jets arrived in India on Wednesday. The fighter jets landed in India from France at around 8.14 pm. The second batch of three Rafale jets landed in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Rafale jets flew non-stop from France and were refueled on their journey. With this addition, India now has eight Rafale aircraft. The first batch of five Rafale jets arrived in India on July 29. Air Force Day 2020: Rafale & other jets showcase prowess in air display

The Indian Air Force celebrated its 88th anniversary with a grand parade and scintillating air display at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. The event was attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief MM Naravane and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inspected the parade which was followed a majestic air display. The highlight of the air show this time around was the newly inducted Rafale jets which took part in the air display. The Rafale flew in the 'Vijay' formation, flanked by two Jaguars and Mirage 2000 each. It also carried out a minimum radius turn within an area smaller than a hockey field forming a figure of eight. The Air Force Day is celebrated to mark the day the IAF was established in 1932. Wishes poured in for the IAF from across the political spectrum with President Kovind and PM Modi leading the way. Watch: IAF chief Bhadauria takes sortie in indigenous Light Combat Helicopter

IAF Chief RKS Bhadauria undertook his maiden flight in indigenous Light Combat Helicopter. The sortie in HAL designed and developed LCH took place in Bengaluru. The aircraft took to the skies at 11.45 hours and remained airborne for an hour. The IAF chief was accompanied by HALs Deputy Chief Test Pilot, Wg Cdr (Retd) S P John. The LCH is planned to be inducted into Indian defence forces in the near future. Earlier, Bhadauria undertook a sortie in the newly inducted Apache attack helicopter. The Air Chief Marshal was on a two-day visit to airbases under Western Air Command. During his visit, Bhadauria also reviewed operational preparedness of the fighter squadrons. The IAF chief also interacted with the air warriors serving at these bases.
