Meerut: Man sentenced to life imprisonment for 100-year-old woman's death after rape bid

Over three years after a youth, then 24, tried to force himself on a 100 years old woman-- an assault which led to the death of the feeble centenarian -- a court in UP’s Meerut district sentenced the accused to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of attempt to rape and murder. “Ankit Poonia has been convicted for the murder of the 100-year-old woman,” said special public prosecutor Nishant Kumar Garg.
