Both Amravati and Yavatmal fall in Vidarbha, a region that has been reporting a steady rise in COVID-19 cases since the start of February. The Maharashtra government ordered collectors of Amravati, Akola and Yavatmal districts in Vidarbha to take necessary steps to curb the rising number of COVID-19 cases, state Minister Anil Parab said in Mumbai.
