Covid-19: India reports 42,640 new cases, 1,167 deaths in last 24 hours

India on Tuesday reported 42,640 daily new Covid cases, the lowest in over three months, pushing the country's total tally to 29,977,861, according to the data updated by the Union health ministry at 9am. This is the 15th day in a row when the daily new cases remained below 1 lakh. On Monday, the country reported 53,256 new cases, lowest in 88 days.
