India reports 8,822 new Covid-19 cases, 15 deaths in last 24 hours

India's active cases shot up to 53,637, an increase from 50,548 recorded the previous day. The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 2 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was also recorded at 2.35 per cent.
