India abstains on UNSC resolution condemning Russian annexation of Ukrainian regions

India abstained a UNSC resolution introduced by the United States and Albania condemning Moscow's proclaimed annexation of parts of Ukraine, citing the "totality of the evolving situation” as the reason for abstention. The resolution failed to get adopted as Russia, as expected, vetoed it. It was supported by 10 of the 15 members of the Council. China, Gabon and Brazil were the other countries that abstained.
