Couple get life term for rape & murder of 4-yr-old

A couple charged with sexual assault and murder of a four-year-old girl - a relative and a neighbour - three years ago were sentenced to double life sentences on Thursday by the Tiruvallur Mahila Court. One of the convicts, an ex-serviceman, had hid a knife inside his dress during the sentencing, allegedly to kill himself. Police seized the weapon before he entered the court.
