Deep depression over Bay of Bengal may turn into cyclone by Monday evening: IMD

A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to become a cyclone named 'Hamoon' by Monday evening, according to the India Meteorological Department. The system is currently located around 400 km from Odisha's Paradip and 550 km south-southwest of Digha in West Bengal. The cyclone is likely to intensify over the next 12 hours and cross the Bangladesh coast as a deep depression on October 25 evening. The Odisha government has instructed district collectors to be prepared for any eventuality.
