Nagpur, located in the heart of India, has been the last-mile destination for millions of Partition victims from Pakistan. Uprooted Sindhis, Punjabis, and East Bengalis have found refuge in Nagpur, struggling for citizenship and land ownership. The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was a flicker of hope for these refugees, but its implementation has been delayed. The government has taken steps to grant property ownership to the second and third generations of these refugees. However, the wait for CAA implementation continues for new immigrants.
