Officials dismiss speculation over gallery-floor vertical gap

The urban affairs ministry officials have clarified that the vertical gap between the visitors' gallery in Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha and the floor of the chamber has actually increased in the new parliament building. In the old building, the distance was 4.15 metres, while in the new building it is around 4.45-4.5 metres. The new complex features three layers of curved railings in front of all galleries, including those for visitors and media persons. Officials have emphasized that strict safety protocols are in place to prevent any mischief or unauthorized access to the chambers.
