'Watershed moment': PM on passage of criminal law bills

The passage of the three criminal Bills in Parliament is a watershed moment in the country's history, marking the end of colonial era laws. These Bills center on public service and welfare, providing enhanced protection for the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable sections of society. They also address organized crime, terrorism, and outdated sections on sedition. Defence minister Rajnath Singh said the passage of the Bills reflected that the government is continuously working towards making new laws by abolishing the obsolete ones.
