Supreme Court pulls up Uttarakhand government, seeks report on wildfires

SC asked Uttarakhand govt to report on forest fire status, fund allocation, vacancies in foresters and forest guard posts, non-payment of wages to workers, reasons for non-payment, National Forest Fire Plan, Uttarakhand Forest Fire Mitigation Policy of 2022, lack of funding from Union government, climate change, and variation in weather conditions.
