GCC supports Egypt in bids to restore navigation via Suez Canal

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, March 27 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf on Saturday affirmed the GCC support for Egypt's efforts to restore regular navigation through Suez Canal.Al-Hajraf has said in a statement that the council is following up with great concern on the efforts by the Arab Republic of Egypt to salvage the mega ship that has veered off track while sailing through the canal.The giant ship with huge containers on board has been stuck in shallow sandy parts of the canal blocking traffic via the vital canal, through which much of the oil supplies pass to world markets along with various other cargos.
