(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, March 29 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Egypt's Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Lieutenant General Osama Rabie announced Monday morning that Ever Given, the Panamanian container ship, began to partially refloat successfully after the ship responded to pull-and-push maneuvers. The ship's position has been straightened by 80 percent and its stern is 102 meters away from the canal bank, Rabie said in a statement, indicating that the workers are scheduled to resume when high tide returns later today, to pull the ship into the middle of the waterway. He sent a message of reassurance to the International Maritime Organization to resume navigation in the canal once the vessel fully refloats soon and direct it to wait towards Great Bitter Lake for its technical examination.Rabie commended the workers who carried this out, appreciating their efforts during the past period and for doing their national duty, as he is confident the work will be 100 percent done.
