Sudan says Nile dam discussions conclude without advancement

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Apr. 6 Sudan attributed the lack of advancement during the fresh round of discussions to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance in (GERD) on "Ethiopian obstinacy." Sudan's negotiating group noted in a declaration: "a round of talks over the GERD was concluded today (Tuesday) in the Congolese capital of Kinshasa without any progress because of the Ethiopian obstinacy." It further said: "Ethiopia has persistently rejected all alternative options and compromises proposed by Sudan to give a role to the international partners, represented in the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union and the United States to facilitate the talks and mediate among the three parties (Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia)." The declaration added that Ethiopia also pressed for resuming the talks with the same old method.
