Casualties of Egypt's train derailment increases to 23

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Apr. 20 the official Ahram Online news website stated in a report that an overall of 23 people have lost their lives from the train derailment in a city north to the Egyptian capital city of Cairo. The incident occurred when four carriages of the train, going from Cairo to the Delta city of Mansoura, came off its trcks in the city of Toukh on Sunday. The report said that the top prosecutor of the country has demanded the arrest of 23 people comprising the train driver, assistant, a railway maintenance observer at the crash place, and others for further probe into the incident. Previously in the day, the Egyptian Minister of Transportation Kamel al-Wazir dismissed the chairman of the state-run National Railways Authority (NRA).
