(MENAFN) Israeli troops noted militants in Gaza launched a rocket in the direction of southern Israel on Saturday evening and the rocket blasted close to the fence dividing the besieged Palestinian enclave and Israel. A report released by the army said that it provoked sirens in the community of Kibbutz Nirim but didn't lead to any damage or wounds. The Israeli air defense systems halted a rocket launched by militants in Gaza, stated the army previously in the day. In the worst escalation in the region over the last months, Gaza militants launched in the direction of southern Israel around 36 rockets overnight between Friday and Saturday and Israel's fighter jets and helicopters hit locations owned by Hamas.
