Some 95 illicit migrants sent back to Tripoli after saving

(MENAFN) On Sunday, May. 2 a number of 95 illegal migrants saved off the Libyan coast were sent back to Tripoli, stated the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). UNHCR said on Twitter later Sunday: "some 95 persons have been intercepted/rescued at sea, and returned to Tripoli by the Libyan Coast Guard tonight." UNHCR stated: "UNHCR and IRC (International Rescue Committee) are currently providing them with blankets, water, and medical assistance." 11 illicit migrants drowned on Sunday when a rubber dinghy overturned off the coast of Zawiya city, around 45 km west of the capital Tripoli, noted the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
