Palestine, Egypt talk about maintaining truce in Gaza

(MENAFN) On Sunday, May. 30 Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas talked with visiting Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel about the methods to maintain the Israeli-Palestinian truce and the rebuilding of the Gaza Strip. The official Palestinian news agency WAFA said in a report that Abbas and Kamel assessed the latest developments in the Palestinian lands linked with the truce, which the Palestinian president noted should cover not only the Gaza Strip, but East Jerusalem and the West Bank as well. The two sides also talked about the internal Palestinian separation and the reconciliation discussion between Abbas' Fatah party and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) that governs the Gaza Strip. Kamel, who convened previously on Sunday with Israel�s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is programmed to reach the Gaza Strip on Monday to hold meeting with Hamas leaders on maintaining the truce.
