Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in the eye in the Whipton area of Exeter yesterday, Sunday 4 October.

Police were called at around 11am with a report of an altercation involving men with weapons at Blackthorn Crescent. Taser trained officers attended and a scene guard was erected while enquiries were carried out.

A 20-year-old man from Cranbrook was taken to Derriford Hospital with a suspected stab wound to his eye where he remains this morning with potentially life-changing injuries.

A 28-year-old man from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of wounding/GBH with intent and bailed until Thursday 29 October pending further enquiries.

In addition, a 26-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, and a 17-year-old male, all from Cranbrook, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and bailed until Wednesday 28 October pending further enquiries.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw any activity prior to, or after, the incident.
