Pedestrians hurt in Bude collision

Police are seeking witnesses to a serious collision in Bude yesterday [15 September] which left two pedestrians injured, one seriously.

Officers were called around noon after the collision involving a Toyota CH-R and a woman and man on Morwenna Terrace.

The man, aged 60 and from Derbyshire, sustained serious, potentially life-changing injuries, and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance.

The 65-year-old woman, also from Derbyshire, was also injured and taken to Derriford Hospital by ambulance.

The male driver of the Toyota is assisting police with their enquiries.

Local officers and officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended, alongside the fire service and ambulance.  

The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours while an examination of the scene was carried out.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They would also like to hear from anyone with any relevant dash cam footage or CCTV.
