*"When your business supports a good cause, it doesn't just make the community better; it makes your business better."*

*SECAUCUS, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / December 17, 2021 /* National Realty Investment Advisors (NRIA), a luxury real estate developer along the east coast, makes corporate philanthropy a priority for the New Jersey-based firm.

"We don't just build and go," says Glenn La Mattina, chief operating officer for NRIA. "We want to become a real part of the cities and towns that we build in and to enrich the whole community. When your business supports a good cause, it doesn't just make the community better; it makes your business better."

For NRIA, philanthropy means more than just writing a check, La Mattina adds. "We like to get our hands dirty," he says. "Our leadership and our employees get directly involved, whether it's organizing a toy drive, cleaning up a beach, walking for cancer research, or handing out backpacks to school children in need."

In addition to the obvious gains that come from companies taking an active interest in the areas that they service, studies show that corporate giving can also boost employee morale. Giving makes employees feel good, it seems, and increases their emotional attachment to their employer.

One 2016 Deloitte study reported that millennials were twice as likely to report their corporate culture as positive if their company participated in volunteer activities.

A recent fundraising walk for cancer treatment and research, Making Strides for Cancer, held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, was an example of just that kind of morale-boosting effect for NRIA.

The event, which included over 150 teams from throughout the northern New Jersey area, had participants walk a 5k around the stadium. NRIA's team, made up of NRIA employees and their friends and families, placed first for fundraising and was officially declared, "Heroes of Hope" at the October 30 event.

"Everyone was raising money and walking together for one great cause," says Anthony Gramuglia, communications manager for NRIA. "It was a collaborative effort, from the mailroom to the receptionist to the leadership team."

NRIA looks for causes that will benefit the residents of each local community that it builds in, NRIA's La Mattina explains, whether it be a crowded urban area in West New York or a beachside enclave in Boynton Beach, Florida.

"We take our role as a corporate citizen seriously," La Mattina says. "Our philanthropy is about a commitment to local areas."

One area may have a population that needs aid with holiday giving or school supplies, he says, while another site may benefit from help saving the endangered turtles which live on the beach.

"For NRIA, we are always searching for new ways to give back to the communities that we build in," NRIA's Gramuglia says. "It would be morally wrong to develop a community without also assisting those that are already there. It's important to leave people better off due to NRIA's presence…We have a platform that allows us to help."

"If we can help, we should," Gramuglia adds. "And if we should, let's do it in the best way possible."
