European offshore wind enjoys record year in 2023

A record 4.2 gigawatts of new offshore wind power generation was installed in Europe in 2023, the trade association WindEurope said Thursday, but the region remains far off the pace needed to hit its targets. Last year's European installations were up 40 percent from 2022, and while the growth rate is expected to halve this year, new offshore wind capacity should still hit around 5 gigawatts
