Twitter Now Allowing Messages Up to 4,000 Characters, With a Catch

Twitter has just implemented one of the most requested features: support for longer tweets. The company, however, has decided to go for a maximum length that is, well, surprising, as users can now create tweets of up to 4,000 characters. That’s way more than the standard 280 chars limit, and at some level, it should prevent users from creating threads that span across several tweets. Unfortunately for those who have a lot to say, not everybody is getting support for the longer tweets. Twitter is making this feature exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers, and for the time being, only those in the United States can try them out. “Most standard functions of Tweeting still apply, whether you want to post a picture, use a hashtag, or create a poll. but now you can type all the way up to 4,000 characters. for now, longer Tweets on web can't be saved as drafts or scheduled to send later,” Twitter explains in a…
