Washington Democrats back bill to curtail police use of excessive force
Democrats in Washington's congressional delegation are lining up behind the Justice in Policing Act, sweeping legislation aimed at curtailing excessive use of force by police and establishing a national data base to track and prosecute police misconduct.
They have the House votes, but the bill would then be in the hands of the Senate's Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
