JC Penney begins permanent store closures, including Concord location

In early June, J.C. Penney said it would begin the process of closing 154 of its stores in what it called the first phase of its efforts to shrink its footprint. The Plano, Texas-based retailer said it could take most of the summer to complete the closures.
