Glenwood Caverns workers didn’t properly check girl’s seatbelts before fatal plunge, report finds

A 6-year-old Colorado Springs girl plunged more than 100 feet to her death at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park over Labor Day weekend because the operators of the vertical drop thrill ride she was on did not properly check her seat belts, according to a state investigation into the fatality. Investigators found the girl was sitting on the belts instead.
