Gabon imposes curfew and cuts internet access as voting wraps up in major elections

Gabon's government has imposed a nationwide curfew and restricted internet access following the completion of major national elections. The curfew, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., is intended to prevent violence and the spread of disinformation. Incumbent President Ali Bongo Ondimba, seeking a third term, faced opposition from economics professor Albert Ondo Ossa. Voting was marred by delays at polling stations, and the reasons for the delays were not explained.
