Myanmar rebels claim seizure of key trading post near border with China

Myanmar's ethnic minority rebels, known as the Three Brotherhood Alliance, have seized a key trading post on the northern frontier, opposite China. The rebels have also conquered several towns and the Kyin-San-Kyawt border gate. They are emboldened by their northern offensive and have increased attacks on security forces across the country. In response to the rebels' advances, China's military has been conducting combat exercises. The rebels have stated that they are implementing their objectives in unity and step-by-step.
