Later this morning, people will be teeing off to help raise money to remember our wdbj7 colleagues.
It's the second annual memorial golf tournament for alison parker and adam ward.
Wdbj7's christian heilman joins us live in roanoke at blue hills golf club with more on the tournament -- and where the money is going.
We are less than three hours away from the first tee-off out here.
Groups leave at 8am and 1:30pm.
There is still room for walk-ons both times.
And there will be plenty of good prizes out here, too.
They'll be giving away a free tv for closest to the pin on hole number two.
And if you're feeling lucky, you can win a car if you get a hole in one on hole 17.
All the money raised goes toward the for alison foundation and adam ward scholarship at salem high school.
Adam's scholarship is five thousand dollars and given to a graduating senior who's just like him.
Tommy mcdonald, salem educational foundation president the criteria is adam-like qualities - the type of person that adam was, friendly to everybody, always very outgoing, an overachiever not only in the classroom but also on the athletic field.
It is not too late to take off work and come out for the tournament.
You can walk-on for both the 8:00 and 1:30 tee times.
It's $60 per golfer and $240 per foursome.
If you wanted an excuse to take a friday off of work, this is it.
Coming up in the next half hour, we'll talk a little bit about the for alison foundation and where that money is going... anchor?
