Legendary ABC Sportscaster Keith Jackson Passes Away at 89

According his employer Saturday, sportscaster Keith Jackson who has been the voice of college football for ABC Sports the last 40 seasons, has died at the age of 89.

Jackson was mostly known for his folksy and excitable demeanor as well as down-home exclamations such as “Whoa, Nellie!” died Friday night surrounded by family.

In addition to College Football, Jackson, who joined ABC Television in 1966, also covered a wide range of sports for the network including 10 Olympics and 11 World Series.
