UK's May Asks EU Leaders For Their Help
UK Prime Minister Theresa May told European Union leaders on Thursday that she could win the British parliament’s support for her Brexit deal with their help.
On Wednesday, her lawmakers voted to keep her as their leader in the governing Conservative Party.
May told leaders of the other 27 EU countries on Thursday that she believes there is a majority in parliament for her Brexit deal.
She postponed a parliamentary vote on the deal in fear of a defeat.
May said to the other leaders, “Over the last two years, I hope I have shown that you can trust me to do what is right, not always what is easy, however difficult that might be for me politically." Britain is due to leave the EU on March 29.
