Gonzaga University President announces Rev. Case, Lee's resignation

At 6:25.

Breaking news tonight..... according to the president of gonzaga university... two members of the school's administration have resigned their positions..., father frank case ..

Vice president of the university and mens basketball chaplain and reverend pat lee the vice presdient for mission and ministry.... are no longer employed at the school.

Our hawk hammer working for you tonight..with what we know so far.

These resignations comes on the heels of that new center for investigative reporting report that detailed how the jesuits sent priests accused of sexual abuse to live on a jesuit owned retirement home of sorts on the gonzaga campus, the cardinal bea house.

One of the fathers sent to the cardinal bea house was james poole... who according to the jesuits just released list.... had years of credible sexual abuse allegation against him.

Spanning all they way back to 1948.

He lived at gonzaga from until 2015.

He has since passed away.

But reverend frank case.... who used to be the head of the jesuits west province then called the oregon province..... endorsed poole for a new position..... backing him to become a chaplain at st joseph medical center in tacoma.... saying he was a jesuit priest in good standing, despite years of allegatons of abuse made against him.

Case said years later that hadn't reviewed poole's personel file because he didn't know about any miscondcut.

So thats the context behind these resignations.... a big change for the campus.

A replacement for case has not yet been named, michelle wheatley will take over the running of the mission and ministry division at
