Cathay Pacific Airways mistakenly sold tickets at a nearly 95 percent decrease, reports Time.????The Hong Kong-based airline accidentally booked business class tickets from Vietnam to Canada and the U.S. for $675; with the original cost being $16,000.????A spokeswoman for Cathay said they are aware of the pricing issue and would provide details later.
Whether or not they will honor the sales is unclear.????Singapore Airlines and Hong Kong Airlines had similar issues in recent years when they sold business class tickets for the price of economy seats.
In both cases, the airliners honored the bookings.????The error for Cathay comes shortly after the struggling Chinese company experienced the world’s largest airline data breach where the private information of 9.4 million customers had been exposed.
